Orientation for Students
New to Western
Western High School will
be hosting its third annual Wildcat Round-Up on August,
11th, 12th and 13th from 9am until 12 pm. Each day will
be a separate session; students can register for the
session that best fits their schedule. The cost for the
program is $10 (cash only). Through this program, students
will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet important
school faculty and staff and be provided with invaluable
information about Western High School. Topics covered
include but are not limited to graduation requirements,
scholarship opportunities, involvement in clubs and sports,
course schedules and articulation. Lunch is also included.
Registration is required. Please contact Ms. Montagnino
or Ms. Kefford at Western High School beginning July
27th.

Mr. Erazo Honored as May's Teacher of the Month
Spanish teacher Eduardo Erazo was selected to represent
Western as May’s “Teacher of the Month.” During the
three years he has spent at Western, Eduardo has passionately
taught most levels of Spanish, including accelerated
classes for Spanish speakers. He prides himself in
providing a dynamic learning experience, using multiple
teaching techniques and decorating every inch of his
classroom with student projects as well as maps, art,
and crafts from the Spanish-speaking world. He also
volunteers his time as the advisor to the Latin Dance
Club at Western, teaching students salsa, bachata,
and merengue and choreographing dances for performances
such as the World Languages Celebration. This past
year, he also served as a mentor to a new Spanish teacher

Senior of the Month for May is Elizabeth Sierocinski
Currently ranked third in the senior class, Elizabeth
Sierocinski is an outstanding scholar who has perfected
the art of balancing a rigorous academic course load
with involvement in a variety of different extracurricular
activities. Elizabeth has earned a 5.0 GPA and near perfect
scores on her SAT. She has been named a National Merit
Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinction and earned an
