Health Science Program

The Health Science Program at Western High is designed for students with an interest in a health care related field and a desire to further explore the Health Sciences. Students will be introduced to a variety of health care related careers, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, health care concepts like infection control, legal ethical issues, etc. The program offers a 3 hour component that allows students to participate in field trips to various health care facilities to be exposed to real world applications.

In addition to the courses offered students are given the opportunity to join HOSA, a co-curricular Career and technical edcation organization, that allows students to build leadership skills, participate in community service activities and competitive events against other HOSA clubs in the county and state.
