2008 graduation ceremony
The 2008 graduation ceremony
will start promptly at 2:00 pm on June the 1st, at Nova Southeastern
University, in the Convocation
Center. Graduates must report to the center NO LATER than 1:00
pm to check in. All graduates should be dressed and ready at
1:00 pm. Doors will open for parents and guests at 1:00 pm. No
one will be admitted, regardless of age, without a ticket. Once
guests are admitted into the arena, they are not permitted to
leave; this is a NSU policy.
Directions to Parking for the University Center Arena:
From I-95, north or south, or Florida’s Turnpike, north
or south, take I-595 exit, westbound. Proceed on I-595 to University
Drive; turn left and proceed southbound on
University Drive to SW 30th Street; turn left onto SW 30th Street
and proceed approximately 1/2 mile turn right onto Ray Ferrero,
Jr. Boulevard. After STOP sign continue forward and then make
your 1st right into the parking garage (9). Please park on the
3rd Floor East closest to the elevators. The University is south
of the garage building (23).
Graduate attire: Male graduates are required to wear dark dress
slacks, a light button-down shirt with a tie, and dark dress
shoes (no sneakers or flip flops). Female graduates are required
to wear dark slacks with a light top, or a dark colored dress
with dark dress shoes (no sneakers or flip flops). These are
worn under the graduates' gowns. Female graduates need to be
aware of the gown length when considering a dress, as dresses
that hang below the gown length (mid-calf) look awkward.
NO SUNGLASSES, HATS (other than graduation caps), pins, etc are
permitted. Additionally, no writing or symbols may be added to
the graduates' caps.
Parents: NSU does not permit the use of tripods in the arena.
There will be a professional photographer on hand to ensure your
graduates' diploma receipt is captured up close.
Requirements: To be eligible to participate in the ceremony:
Students must return the mandatory graduation behavior form to
Mrs. Kefford by May 16th
All obligations must be cleared before May 28th
Students must participate and be on time for both mandatory rehearsals
Extra tickets: Students will receive 5 tickets each. Each student
can then apply for an additional 2 tickets. To apply for the
additional tickets, students must submit a written request to
Mrs. Kefford's office no later than May 16th. These tickets will
be issued to students at the final rehearsal (May 30th). We are
very sorry but due to seating limitations at NSU, we are unable
to grant requests for more than 2 additional tickets.

Prom Information
Tickets will be $75 each. Each senior will be allowed to purchase
a maximum of two tickets and the names of both attendees will
need to be given at the time of purchase. The dates of our seniors

Prom. Tickets cannot be reassigned to other students.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, April 14th and a handout

distributed to students purchasing tickets. Seniors will need
to be sure that they have a 2.0 GPA and all obligations are cleared
before they will be allowed to purchase a ticket.
Following the end of tickets sales, the seniors will need to
KEEP THEIR RECEIPTS and come to see me, either before or after
school only, to pick up their tickets. No receipt - no tickets.
